This Ammolite triplet reminds me of butterfly wings. The stone, measuring at 18mm x 11mm, has a very unusual combination of colors, as the tip is a lime green, with the mid portion mostly peachy tones, and Prussian blue at the bottom. There is also a strip of pink seen at certain angles, situated at the lower border of the peachy area. Genuine pink is about the rarest color to be found in Ammolite. Light mauves are also rare. Genuine pink must not be confused with faded red, as they are miles apart in value. And this rare pink is generally found along with other colors. Most faded reds have a very fine dragonskin pattern, and are easy to identify due to that. Such material has sat out in the sun for a very long time, and with heat and fading, has formed the fine fracture lines before ever being mined. All of the hues in this pendant are seldom found together in one gem, leading me to believe that this one is very special, and anything close to it is unlikely to be seen again any time soon.

I have added a photo so that you can see what faded red ammolite looks like. The last picture shows a rough stone on the bottom, and a resin coated one above it. These stones have very little value, even though they can be fairly pretty. Years ago I saw a large one set in rose gold with diamonds for $22,000. I suspect the jeweler did not know the difference between faded red and genuine pink Ammolite. This is why it is good to know what one is buying!

The Solara setting is very popular, and this one is solid sterling silver with three cubic zirconias, and is rhodium plated. The chain is also rhodium over sterling silver, so neither will tarnish. I only have sizes 18" and 20" in the chains, so please indicate your preference. If you would like neither, I am able to offer a discount of my wholesale price for one.
